UNDERSTANDING ANATOMY: part IV by FOERVRAENGD UNDERSTANDING ANATOMY: part IV by FOERVRAENGD
This definitely is not one of my best ones. I feel kinda lost here. Ugh. I hope I made some sort of sence.

I recommend this tutorial which covers the feet way better than I did: [link]

Gold, plain and simple. No matter if a pro or beginner, this is something that any artist must check since as skill level goes up, new challenges come across. Thanks for such an awesome work.

Excellent execution!!

These are really great! A lot of time and effort has been put into these and I'm learning a lot that I didn't even think I needed to learn.

Something I've noticed about different people's feet is that a lot of women or people from impoverished backgrounds may have a crooked big toe (that curves inwards towards the others) or sometimes bunions. This would be because of a growth spurt resulting in outgrowing their shoes and not being able to get new ones that would last long enough. It is also common in women (the older, the more severe it seems) because of a lifetime of wearing high-heeled, or pointy shoes.

An extreme (and horrible) example of just what can happen when this is taken way too far is the bound feet of ancient chinese women. You may need brain bleach.

Wow! Thank you so much for sharing this! :D I've been practicing on figure drawing for months and still have problem with drawing feet, because I couldn't find any drawing tutorial book. This helps me a lot, especially for those basic foot and toes's shapes. I'll make sure to practice on these ;)

i got a question, how long should the legs be according to the height of the body?
Reply
:iconkikcac:
Kikcac Featured By Owner May 6, 2013
It depends on people. People who are 7 head tall usually have their leg about 3 head tall. I didn't master anatomy yet, but I'd recommend looking at references and measure people's leg proportion and then you might get a general idea.

This is incredibly random, but my third grade teacher told us to sit down by saying, "put your gluteus maximus on your chairius maximus." It's six years later and I still remember.
