List of tutorials that helped me with environmental painting:
"How to make your own Perspective Grid in PS" <--- this one is the best thing I've ever discovered. Srsly CHECK IT OOOOUUUUT!
Snuffen's Background Tutorial P1 More or less ALL tutorials by Griffsnuff is awesome, so make sure to check out the rest of them!
More or less ALL tutorials made by AquaSixio!
List of youtube channels that also helped and inspired me:
FZDSCHOOL - More or less one of the most known concept art-related resources I know on youtube. It's great to sit and draw and just listen to the talking.
SinixDesign - This guy is also great! He has some design workshops ever now and then where the viewers can send in their stuff for critique! very encouraging and inspiring!
moatddtutorials - This guy is more into drawing than painting, and has a more cartoony style. He has interesting methods when it comes to perspective. And he also challenge himself in some of his videos (the engine block video is a great example of this)
foxOrian - Also known here on dA for his awesome perspective and composition tutorials. He has a youtube channel where he posts some videos that might be interesting as well.
I am a new member at Deviantart.
I have been all over this site and Google to find things to study to improve my drawing (had a break in about 15 years, donno why I stopped drawing and painting..my life is now complete), and I found From manga to realistic and Understanding anatomy. Great.
Thank you very much You are a very talented artist.
Btw is it possible to buy your book?
I have read your tips about other great tutorials, like Loomis, The book of bones and other tut at Deviantart. Also have a couple of books (they are 20 years old but still great), have also ordered a couple more.
Have a great day, and sorry for my bad english
This helped me with my animals ^^
In art we had to draw something with chalk and oil pastel. I usually draw dogs, only dogs. But on
this project I picked a dragon and a horse, to improve and get out of MY own 'comfort zone'. Suprizingly
to hear that for my first times drawing dragons and horses they turned out better then the references
I got them from! Even better than the kids in my club that have been studying them for a long time,
which I was very happy and proud of!
Thanks to that horses, cats, hyenas, dragons, and even bunnies are my new priorities now. Occasionally
a wolf or a dog if I'm really in the mood. But also this tutorial, thank you also for encouraging me to step
out of my 'comfort zone', I think of myself as a much better artist than I used to be and thank you so much
for letting me do that and encouraging me to be a better artist for the future. ^^
p.s. This is my friends account so don't be expecting any of those drawing posted on here ^^' ))
I might still give that a try just for the fun of it someday, but I'm going to take your advice to heart and experiment elsewhere. ;D I also LOVE to play with color, so this is really encouraging! Thank you! ♥
All of your concept pictures are so wonderful and I guess I'll try something like this, too
Thanks for sharing
So, thank you ! I to remember this !
If possible, could you please link to the environment challenge template?
Thanks for your 'tutorial'!
