ART STUDY-DUMP 03 by FOERVRAENGD ART STUDY-DUMP 03 by FOERVRAENGD
TUMBLR ARTBLOG

Decided to change the titles on these deviations since they are technically not "tutorials" but just my own drawing studies.

For the head angles I used this as reference. It's really handy I must say. One day I shall manage to draw the whole "map" on my own : >
At the moment I'm a bit too tired trying to dig out all the othe references I used on the other studies, I'll prob make a journal with links to them sooner or later.

The advice about redrawing a sketch/study instead of trying to fix it too much seems interesting! I'll try it out, thank you!!

I just now Found My sketchbook. Man this makes me wanna draw in it, if I don't get all scared and throw it across the room.
Plus, I'm still trying to learn how to draw hands since I'm good at drawing everthing but Them.

I agree, people hate on the "boobs and butts" pose way too much... It's totally possible, just ridiculous. Nice studies.

This is actually very helpful!
I think it helped me a lot trying to practice specific poses more than one time, because I tend to try something only once and then putting it aside.
Thank you!

I think a LOT of people do that, if it doesn't end up good enough they feel discourage and gives up. But the secret to improve is to "first fail and next time fail better". There is a reason why many people can mostly draw a specific "set" of poses - because they have drawn that pose so many times before!

You should do that!
A sketchbook is more or less your "training camp" where you draw just for the sake of improving, it's in your sketchbook were you do your mistakes and learn from them. Many people today has forgotten that, and instead think that a sketchbook must contain "pretty" and "perfect" drawings to show others. Which it's not, it's your training camp : >
so yeah I actually think you should dig out your ol' sketchbook. I bet it has missed you.

it really does help you out, and it's also very motivating because you srsly can see improvement instantly. Like, you could more or less call the technique "quantity makes quality"? :'''D

I actually just drew a pictue with a ref and then drew it using the one I drew as a ref. It was so amazing I was like: WOAH WOAH what just happened there?

haha exactly! however, it is important that once you draw the second time that you have taken some small notes on what areas that needs to be improved (like proportions for example) and make sure to avoid repeating the same mistakes again. It is not a bad idea to use a highlight marker or similar things to mark out mistakes etc. it is highly effective.
